GamLoHaeIn (甘露海印) is a core concept that appears in Korean prophetic texts such as “GyeokAmYuRok” and is closely associated with salvation.
It is a combination of two main symbolic elements:
Gamro (甘露): Means ‘sweet dew’ or ‘sweet water,’ symbolizing life, eternal life, and spiritual nourishment.
Haein (海印): Means ‘sea seal’ or ‘sea stamp.’ Derived from the Buddhist concept of Haein Samadhi (海印三昧), it symbolizes the wisdom that reflects all truths of the universe, or a mystical power and authority that accomplishes all things.
“GyeokAmYuRok” records that a savior called JeongDoRyeong (正道令) will appear with GamLoHaeIn to save the world and its people.
The concept of GamLoHaeIn is found as similar tokens in various scriptures and philosophies of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Christianity.
Buddhist Scriptures (佛經): It is said that when Maitreya Buddha brings and bestows Gamro (or Gamro water) upon sentient beings, their afflictions are extinguished, they do not die, attain enlightenment, and become Buddhas.
The Bible (聖經): It is recorded that the Savior will give dew-like manna (or hidden manna) to the ‘overcomer,’ which symbolizes eternal life and spiritual nourishment.
In essence, GamLoHaeIn is a common symbol representing the token and power of eternal life, wisdom, and ultimate salvation brought by the savior who appears during humanity’s final tribulation, regardless of whether it is viewed through Confucianism, Buddhism, or Christianity.
