GyeokAmYuRok

A prophecy book written by Scholar Gyeokam Nam Sa-go (1509-1571), a scholar of the times during the reign of King Myeongjong of Joseon.

The book, spanning 60 chapters in the style of poetry and song lyrics, details the appearance of JeongDoRyeong in late 20th century Joseon, who will save humanity. It urges future generations to abandon falsehood and follow Jeong Do-ryeong.

The reliability of its core content is bolstered by surrounding prophecies. These include remarkably accurate predictions of historical events such as the Japanese invasions (Wa-ran), Manchu invasions (Ho-ran), the fall of Joseon, Japanese colonial rule, liberation, division, the Korean War, and the armistice. It foretells that the advent of Jeong Do-ryeong in a poor nation will bring peace and prosperity.

Referred to as ‘Cheonjangjib (천장지비)’, meaning secrets hidden by heaven and earth, the exact contents were not discernible through reading. However, it was transmitted as a manuscript for 500 years and registered as an ancient document at the National Library of Korea in 1977.

Jeong Do-ryeong himself is the key to deciphering the cryptic GyeokAmYuRok. It was only after JeongDoRyeong was fully realized in a secret chamber between Samsinsan and Nogo-san in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, around 1980, that the hidden and concealed contents could finally be clearly revealed.
